Israeli tanks have advanced on a main road in southern Gaza's Rafah, with intense fighting between Israeli forces and Hamas and Islamic Jihad. The IDF captured part of the Salah a-Din road, and tanks have pushed further along, although still within an evacuated zone. Residents have reported constant explosions and gunfire. Israel has ordered civilians to evacuate the eastern outskirts of Rafah, but around a million Palestinians who fled other parts of the enclave during the war remain in the city itself and have not been called to evacuate yet.
